Dare to BARE!

Local theater favorite Randy Tarash is producing Bare, a new rock musical to premiere in SF this fall/winter. He's also hosting an invite-only Manhattan presentation tomorrow night.

Rock on Randy!

See the article in Playbill.
San Francisco producer Randy Taradash has put together this presentation of the Catholic teen-angst show by Damon Intrabartolo and Jon Hartmere. The invite-only Manhattan presentation is in anticipation of its San Francisco Bay Area premiere in late fall 2009.

The cast for the reading includes Bean (Wicked, Hairspray), Felciano (2006 Tony award nominee Sweeney Todd), Kecia Lewis-Evans (The Drowsy Chaperone), Janine LaManna (The Drowsy Chaperone, Sweet Charity), Neil Haskell (Altar Boyz) and Alysha Umphress (2008 MAC Award nominee, Make Me A Song: The Music of William Finn).

Director Arima's previous productions include the Obie Award-winning Altar Boyz, currently in its fourth year Off-Broadway; the 2004 West End premiere of Ragtime (for which he earned a Best Director Olivier Award nomination); the international music sensation, Bowfire; and the critically acclaimed concert production of Leonard Bernstein's Candide by the San Francisco Symphony.

With music by Intrabartolo, lyrics by Hartmere, and book by Intrabartolo and Hartmere, bare is a cult hit due to its 2007 studio recording. The musical had a sold-out five-week run Off-Broadway in 2004. It was originally presented in an award-winning production in Los Angeles.
