Columbus Day of Shame

Each year the din to abolish Columbus Day as a national holiday grows louder. Columbus did not discover America, but in fact raped, and pillaged, and horrifically tortured the original Americans. I'm all for a day off, but not to honor such atrocities. The Oatmeal has a marvelous infographic/rant on this, and offers instead the idea of celebrating Bartolomé de las Casas. Give it a read!
