It is been a fortnight of great change here at I'm Just Sayin', and understandably posting was suspended while I took some serious quality time with Papa John and Fran the Man in Nashville, only to be immediately followed by one last day at my job of the past six+ years and diving directly into a new and complex position. So far, I am digging the new gig and am looking forward to the challenge, however the commencement has been a bit fitful as my manager had to leave town unexpectedly for a week and the person training me has been reduced to a pile of quivering phlegm. And my first day: diving headfirst into a federal audit requiring a lot of data mining on my part, and made excruciatingly frustrating by the fact that the gaggle of auditors sent to make their assessment have no understanding of this industry processes and can't seem to grasp the fundamentals or recognizing defined terms which differ greatly from casual vocabulary thrown about. It's like having a team of eskimos come assess a beach and unable to grasp the concept of sand.
Then there is the other half of my new job which centers around financial programs. I am eager to get up to speed on both of these complex programs but am reminded I must walk before I can run. This new gig is rather well suited to both my professional experience and natural aptitudes, but I am impatient to master the new roles and resume a typical workday of confident and competent flow.
There's the serious update. Snark to entertain you and SF event updates will resume shortly. Thank you for abiding the light posting schedule as I get my "real" life in order.
