The relasease of Microsoft's new operating system has not only resulted in a collective yawn, but the media had taken a definite turn agains Gates. Gone are the free media rides. Is it because today's reporters all use PCs and have some basic knowledge? Are the reporters themselves considering upgrading and genuinely want to know why they should shell out for new hardware to run the new software, and so are asking consumer-oriented questions? Is it because everyone now knows (but perhaps not yet accepted) that Macs are just better and easier to use?
Is it because the new PC OS is the Mac OS from four or five years ago?
I dunno.
But I do know that Gates et al are failing at playing both the market, and the media.
