New favorite genre

I went to a show last night. Both art show and music show.

Long-time readers will be no strangers to my love of 77 El Deora. Maurice Tani is the man behind the music, but he is also a successful commercial artist and his show posters are works of art.

Now having a showing at Café Royale, 840 Post at Leavenworth.

With the e-mails that go out with the gig announcements and show posters, he's been penning snatches of imagined pulp fiction.

He calls his style Hillbilly Noir.

I freaking love that. My new favorite genre. It covers his artwork and his music. My kinda stuff (more on that later).

Morsels to follow to give you a taste of this dark, deadly goodness.
