bad reviews

Kevin, ever the traveler and always on the lookout, sent me this:
Scroll down to the 2nd review titled: "superb" on this review of Top of the World restaurant.

The comment: "oh my god, so yum" is quaint.

The statement: "my husband had around 5 Bud's" is awesome. There really yahoos in this country who would go into an expensive restaurant and order a "Bud." (I made sure to capitalize the name just like her :0 )
Here's an excerpt of the user review:
My husband had the Shrimp Cocktail to start and then the Steak and I had the Lamb with creamy garlic mash and asparagus. For afters I had the Stratosphere (oh my god, so yum) and my husband had the Creme Brulee which he said was amazing. You also get bread at the start and a very unusual bread wafer which was lovely.

My husband had around 5 Bud's and I stayed with the water.
The total without tip was $190.00 which I thought was super value for such a great restaurant. Cannot wait to visit again.
Personally I thought it was funny that people still ordered shrimp cocktails. They still have those on menus? How late 70's fern bar.

The Top of the World on top of the Stratosphere in Vegas is just above okay. Diners are really paying for the view. But if you're coughing up $100 per person for a meal (not including beverages), order something nice to drink that is properly paired with the food. A six-pack of American swill "Bud" is not it.

Also in my In box this morning, offers for comp tickets to "celebrate" the final three shows of Broadway with a Twist II. This was sent to our corporate LGBT listserv . Clearly, the author is either in the show or is involved with someone in the show. He raved about it, and quoted a Talkin' Broadway review (however, not of this performance).

My GOD MAN! This show is AWFUL. TERRIBLE. Kevin and I had free tickets which were clearly overpriced. We left during intermission, and stayed only that late as we had to cross the stage to get to an exit.

Yet, we did consider it.

It's been weeks and I still cringe in horror when I think about it. PAINFUL DREK.

I'm sure the performers are all nice people, but this is better performed at home in the living room for their own enjoyment. It was just cruel to inflict it on other people.

I forwarded the flattering notice to Kevin who responded:
ok, either the reviewer:

1) needs to break it gently to his boyfriend (who's in the show) that the show sucks and end the delusion

2) oh, i dunno, take him out from under his rock and take him to another show
or
3) he needs to be shot, since having no brain is incompatible with life.
This all may sound very mean, but we as theater queens goers are actually very forgiving. An audience wants the show to go well. We were pulling for the performers. Until they started pulling at our nerves like some sort of sadistic dentist. I'm all for celebrating the last three performance, but for the wrong reasons.

It reminds me of that Statler and Waldorf line (Kevin and I are Statler and Waldorf don't you know.)

Waldorf: I liked that last number.
Statler: Why?
Waldorf: Because it was the last number!
