As big a fan as I am of the clever pun, verbal or iconic, I am easily tired by cutesy terms to distinguish men's and women's toilets. Theme restaurants tend to be the grossest offenders.

Clearly, I am not alone, judging by the public editorial to the somewhat difficult to distinguish signage of "boy dog" and "girl dog" at the Fido coffee house near Vanderbilt University.


I was grateful for and quietly applauded the rouge marker man as I went on to do my own bit of business.
