This coverage is just genius. Honest interviewing and questioning, with no logical responses. There is no maliciousness or "trickery" on the part of the documentarian, just occasional disbelief at the non-responses. Sure, the interviewer seems there to discredit these nut jobs on their "march" on Washington, but only by giving them the opportunity to speak out, which is what one presumes they want—they are after all marching and chanting and holding signs.
Basically, he lets them answer their own questions with nonsense and discredit themselves completely.
I really didn't have a grasp of how much the anti-health care/tea-bagger movement has nothing to do with either health care insurance reform or taxation. It seems to be thinly veiled bigotry looking for a cover. Out of their own mouths:
Skip ahead a few minutes if you like—it gets really entertaining when he starts asking follow up questions to their own statements. Quality responses include that Obama is the anti-Christ because his name is written out in Hebrew as the anti-Christ in the Bible, a guy holding a "Joe Wilson for President" sign saying, "Oh, I'm not for Joe Wilson for President." And of course people complaining about parts of the Health Care Reform Bill they hate, but cannot say which parts, or that they are tired of Obama's "lies," but cannot identify a single lie.
I am quite impressed with the comportment of the interviewer. This needs to be shown on network news. Perhaps Leno can add it to his Jaywalking segment too.
(Best aside after a protester could not explain his own sign: "Fascism, socialism, communism—these things are apparently interchangeable, if you don't know what they mean.")
