slash non-fiction

Amen.

I hear this all the time on TV and at work, and I cringe every time. The slash in URLs, I'm sorry, "web addresses," is a forward slash, or in other words: just plain "slash." The "backslash" came into use for computer programming, and is still only used for Windows/DOS directory or code nonsense. Saying "backslash" doesn't make one sound more technically astute, rather quite the opposite.
