love of letters

Thinking about it, grand gestures in movies are sweepingly romantic and beloved. In real life, grand gestures are often way too creepy and would scare the hell out of a romantic interest.

I think, in reality, the same thing may go for love letters. If you're both into it, a really good love letter may be really good. In pursuit, it may just come across as stalkery.  I don't know.

When I was cleaning out my parents' attic last winter, I found my grandfather's letters to my grandmother during WWII. Just amazing. I wonder if the art of the love letter is indeed lost. Or no longer received in the spirit in which they are intended.

I think I have saved every letter I have ever received. And I remember and revisit some of the best ones.

But I'm a letter guy. Pen to paper is still special to me.

So much more sincere than simply "send."

On this note, of note.

And this posting on letters has been brought to you by the letter B.

I've decided that being OK with my love of letters of love is going to be my state of B'ing.
