Pride was intense and intensely fun. But so much fun wore me out, weakened my immune system, and I caught what was going around work—which put me down for a week! Wow that was not fun. My doctors are also where I work, and when I made it in to make sure it wasn't something more serious than a bad virus, I had to see doctors veering the clinic as all the urgent care doctors were out sick with the same thing, and the doctor who saw me had just gotten over it. Basically, the Rx was OTC cold and pain meds (actually Rx pain meds leftover from surgery), lots of rest, and stay the hell away from work. So down I've been. And too grog to blog either. It's also been a total summer week here in SF with no clouds and temps in the mid 70s. I am not happy to be cooped up since.
However, in Nashville it's been around 107, so it could be worse.
I've watched about 15 movies (it's been nice to have my entire collection viewable from the AppleTV) and way too much old TV. I'm up but not at 'em so I thought I might as well get to some old stuff from the busy summer which never got posted.
I am more annoyed that I've been down three times this year. As I've gotten older I've gotten less sick (but more frequently injured) and am frustrated that I've had pneumonia, that bug in Nashville, and now this bug. I've got too much to do to be sick. And I hate missing work. Other than the pain in the body, it is just a pain all the way around.
On the upside, I had a fridge full of farmers' market fresh veg and damn if I can't make a good soup.
