Labor Day weekend was wonderfully hot and sunny in SF, but there are so few bars with spaces to hang outside. The Eagle has yet to reopen, and we weren't feeling El Rio, so Skot Land and I thought we'd try late afternoon at the Lone Star before Sundance. I haven't been to the Lone Star in years, and their afternoon cocktail price point means I won't be returning anytime soon. There is only so much beer bust a bear can bear.
We settled on the back patio when a random guy looked at me askance and said, "Nashville?... Hardcastle?...."
Lordy, he knew me when I had just come out in Nashville and before I moved to SF 16 years ago. What a memory! (He himself moved to Texas the year after I moved to CA).
A big home town shout out to John Mays!
