He recently ran into a woman who was overdressed for whatever and she explained she was going to court for her final hearing on her most recent divorce. She (over)shared her life experience with all sorts of bad boyfriends and bad husbands with the abusin' and the drinkin' and the cheatin' and what have you. She concluded by saying, "My picker's broken."
Meaning her ability to choose a quality partner is non-functioning— Her picker is broken.
I love that. Not in all my days, nor in Kelly's, in the South have we heard such a thing. Sure, no fewer than four country artists have recorded a version of "My Give a Damn's Busted." [iTMS] But "My Picker's Broken"? Man, someone had better snatch that up quick. No pickin' and no grinnin'.
Poor thing.
(Bless her heart.)

I like the idea of her "picker" being a euphimism for something not-so-delicate. A hoot!
