Remember V? The alien invasion mini-series from the 80's? I remember being frustrated that I had to wait several years for the second mini-series to conclude the first one. And remembering being freaked out by Freddie Krueger as the "nice lizard alien" and the freaky ass birth of the lizard twin. Sure, the effects were lame, but it was fun. Anthony Edwards even used the actual lizard baby to shock his castmates on "er" one year during a particularly traumatic birthing episode (the makeup person still had it from her time on "V").
The War of the World's viris idea and the magical peace-loving twin were sloppy, hacked devices, but still, I have a nostalgic fondess for V.
And the remake looks pretty cool. And full of cool, pretty actors. (Although I still question why there is a remake.)
