The San Francisco Public Library is hosting two speed dating nights for Gen-Boomers, one for hetero-seekers (opposite gender) and one for LGBT-seekers (same gender).
In classic speed dating style, you will have five minutes to talk with every participant about your favorite, most loathsome, perplexing or intriguing book and have the opportunity to potentially meet your next sweetheart. Due to space limitations, each event is limited to 36 participants.I'm imagining opening lines such as, "So, are you a soft cover or are you hard bound?" But I think "So, was your family happy like everyone else's or were you unique in your unhappiness?" is pretty lit hot. Obvious Melville references not so much. Unless you're on gay night and go there afterward.
Lucky book/lovers may find themselves on a dark and stormy night.
