Say "Hello" to my little friend

Okay, I've likely mentioned in my unbiased way how completely awesome my niece Ellen is.  Here she is chilling with some summer reading early morning at the lake.  This is now my desktop picture.

Ellen reads by the lake - 3

She's cool in the mellow/jazz sort of cool, funny in ways you don't expect, musically talented, ridiculously responsible and charming as all.

And she's a crack shot.  She took the riflery medal last year at Camp Greystone, and has already set the record for this year (47 out of 50 at 50 feet).  I've been trying to send her a letter or card every day while she's at camp but I'm a few days behind.  Friday I received another letter back from her, and she used her high-scoring target as stationery, with her Hello Kitty envelope.

That's a 45 score: a 7, two 9s and two dead-center bulls-eyes. But here's my favorite part: she signs the letter with a cartoon of Hello Kitty with a rifle.

Oh God. LOVE this. I'm calling it, "Hello....Kitty...."

Or perhaps just "Kitty's got a gun..."

This is my new Facebook profile pic:

I think it needs a caption contest.
