sandwich of the gods

OMFG. I took a TR to Memphis Minnie's for his birthday last night. Holyshitballs they have a new Texas take on the Philly Cheesesteak: The Texas Cheesesteak sandwich is on fresh toasted ()and buttered all aroundO) french roll with grilled onions and peppers and slow roasted barbecue brisket, which would be awesome enough, but it is topped with melting homemade pimento cheese.

Texas Cheesteak sandwich!

Hammina.

We both got one.

It comes with a choice of side, and while their slaw is super tasty, and their mac & cheese is legendary, we got it as suggested with the BBQ seasoned fries. (I got mine with regular pepers instead of jalapeƱos, although I am told there were just few/enough of them to make it right but not too much). I never knew food could make me so happy. That was ridiculously good. Almost a spiritual experience. And not long for this world.

Texas Cheesteak sandwiches gone!

And TR was wise enough to go back and finish us off with a slice of fresh pecan pie.

Tom Rizollo and pecan pie

So much Southern lovin' right there in the Lower Haight!
