I won't squeeze, in memoriam

As such a TV/pop culture/vintage actor guy, I felt like I should comment on the recent passing of Dick Wilson, the man who played Mr. Whipple in the Charmin ads, "Please don't squeeze the Charmin." I always imagined he ended up with Madge the Manicurist.

Five points:
  1. Now that was some quality advertising. Remembered to this day, and remembered with the name of the product.
  2. I totally remember him as the suffering drunk on Bewitched who would witness Samatha's witchcraft.
  3. I am scared at the percentage of people I come across in an average day whom I expect have no clue who Mr. Whipple was.
  4. JoeMyGod has the best/worst headline for this news: "Please Don't Squeeze the Coffin."
  5. Yes, I said "Dick Wilson."

Can you imagine if I dated a Dick Wilson....
