It's National Pancake Day!
If that isn't a justification for dropping South Beach I don't know what is. And IHOP is giving away pancakes all day.

Update: Apparently my "news" sources are teasing me. According to an anonymous commentator, this is the same day as Mardi Gras, and therefore last week. I don't remember them being on the same day, but it's not like I circle my calendar for flapjacks.
But I was looking forward to some free flaps!
Update Update: The snarky commentator was not entirely correct. National Pancake Day, as it is being celebrated by IHOP, is in fact tomorrow, February 12.
IHOP explains: In 2008, Fat Tuesday falls on February 5, which also happens to be Super Tuesday, on which a record number of states will hold their Presidential primaries. In the interest of embracing the democratic process, IHOP has postponed its celebration of National Pancake Day by one week, and will give away free pancakes on February 12.

shrove tuesday was last tuesday, same day as mardi gras. IHOP (or you) really screwed up.
Are you kidding me? "really screwed up"? Transfusing the wrong blood type is really screwing up. Free Pancake Day is a lark. You take this shit waaaay too seriously.
