Recently the Republicans and the gun nuts have been so whackadoodle that their actual statements sound like someone satirizing how batshit crazy they are. The BBC had to run two disclaimers regarding the NRA's statements that were so outrageous no one thought it was real.
Today I came across a headline I just assumed was from The Onion. Nope, it's real. And kind of tragic, but not in that "It's okay to rape women" and "More guns in schools" Republican sort of way.
