Bible Blog

This is interesting. David Plotz over at Slate is reading the Bible from page one, and blogging about it. It's not so much Cliff's Notes, but more Reader's Digest meets Siskel & Ebert. It is quite insightful, and really highlights how conservatives/creationists areinconsistent, hypocritacal, and often ignorant of what "it says so in the Bible." (I should point out that he is not highlighting hypocrisy, he's just recapping scripture. The hypocrisy is self-evident.)

Along with synopsis and commentary, there are some funny lines. He's a witty writer all around.

My favorite line from the Genesis commentary: "You can call this 'original sin,' but maybe it's just lax parenting."

He's up to Leviticus now. It's amazing how the "conservatives" love this book for the dozen or so anti-gay words, but ignore everythig else.
