After an afternoon touring Traveler's Rest and getting an orientation, I spent the night gallivanting around town with Handsome Keith.
First stop was Wanderlust, a benefit for The Brooks Fund (which I support), with Rob Sikorski and Jeff Rymer.

And it was a pleasant surprise to see old friends Richard Bird and William Taylor.

Richard Bird and William Taylor
William was once the head librarian at Vanderbilt's Owen School of Business Management and was the first one to educate me about reference librarians and the MLS.
Old but not long-lost friends were about as well, including John Bridges and my favorite dynamic duo: Cynthia and Joe Warner.

It was a nice enough party for a benefit, and there was plenty of eye candy.

From the Cannery we went to Cameron Foster's birthday party at Cabana. Much fun. And some of the same faces from Wanderlust. Hosting the party was Cameron's best friend Mike Smith, Editor of The Nashville Scene, who also oversees the daughter publication Nfocus (for whom I am writing tonight).

Jerrol and Kelly
Jerrol is the guy I drove home Christmas night for those who know that story (I did not publish it here). Kelly has been Mike's partner for, well, almost ever.

(I was the one who put the dollar there, btw)
As we tend to do, we closed down the night at Tribe and got all sorts of silly. And thanks to David and Michael for being such good hosts.
Keith and I love Loy:
And I finally met Loy's "artist boyfriend" (as he is always referred to me) at Wanderlust.
The running joke is that between them they have maybe 1.5% body fat. Grr. That's DJ Ron in the middle.
And a truly wonderful surprise was reconnecting with Michael Reynolds.

He is such a quality human and he's in a transitional period in his life right now. It may be purely selfish, but I just want him to be the star I know he is.
And speaking of singing, we shall never speak of karaoke at Blue Gene's again.

I'm just not sayin'.
