From Alert Reader Jeff Javits, another "today's librarians aren't old ladies with spectacles and hair buns anymore, and some even have tattoos" article in the press, but this is in the New York Times and is pretty well written if not covering already well worn territory.

These writers all seem so surprised that modern librarians are hip and cool and have interests other than romantic poetry and sitting alone with their cats. You would think that, as writers, they might actually visit a library and see this for themselves.

I liked this article though, if only if it provided me with links two cool new favorite blogs: The ALA Tech Source and Librarian.net.
