$5.6 million for Bay Bridge opening ceremony

WTF?!  $5.6 million for the Bay Bridge re-opening ceremony?!  I think the taxpayers would rather the money be spent on making transit better.  It's not clear how much of this is privately funded vs toll- and tax-funded.  Although it is a pittance compared to the $6.3 billion the new span cost.
