fun stuff this week

Oh Goodie. More fun stuff for July:

Tonight/Monday: Open Mic Comedy at Club Deluxe in the Haight. 9:00 p.m. Featuring one of the Shilpa's friends. No confirmation that said friend is in fact funny.

Tuesday: Bastille Day. Fun francophone stuff all around, particularly in Claude Lane.

Wednesday: Aliens versus Monsters in Digital 3D at the Castro Theater. Brain Farts Trivia with Pollo Del Mar and BeBe Sweettbriar at 8:00. All the Single Ladies may want to stop by an meet newcomer Prentiss, the hot, straight, former Marine currently enrolled in the Haas B school at Berkeley.

Wednesday also sees the opening of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I realize that sounds dirty now that I've typed it that way but I think that's funny so I'm not correcting it.

As long as I'm sounding dirty, Wednesday there is also the Beyond Twisted: Kink Outside the Box presentation and conversation hosted by Mistress Midori and sponsored by the Stop AIDS Project at the Citadel. Search Facebook for deets.

Friday: Cold War Triple Feature at the Castro Theater, starting off with War Games at 7:15, followed by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey acting like they don't hate each other in real life in Red Dawn at 9:45. Chuck Norris in the campy Invasion U.S.A. starts at Midnight.

All Week (and for me, Friday): The SF Giants County Fair located behind the park. $5 to get in, $20 for unlimited rides and admission (and one blogger wrote that there are so few people they rode everything they wanted all damn day). Buy your ticket in advance for cheaper for Goldstar, or enter "Navy" at checkout, pretend you work for GAP, and get unlimited rides and admission for $15.

Entertainment: Wednesday is LGBT Day, Friday has WonderBread Five, and Saturday Kenny Chesney and Sugarland.
