Club Jackson LIVES!

Update from Barney!
Just signed with an apartment here in Wellington. Very nice 2-bedroom studio. Based in a suburb called Petone (lance don't laugh). Petone is a cute suburb of Wellington, kind of like a Berkeley is to San Francisco (Romo, don't laugh). Lots of cafes and hip and young crowd based there escaping the expense of the city. Its a short bike ride to my job and also just 10 min down the freeway to the city. Very happy with it. I move in on Saturday and have a weekend of shopping planned especially for essentials like a bed. But would believe you know it, the apartment is situated on Jackson Street!! Too Funny!! I think it will be named 'Club Jackson Sud'!

Dancing at Studio Fourteen Fifty-Four.

Barney, Verde, and apparently, Cousin It.

Studio 1454

Did I mention that Rich from NYC/Phoenix is staying with me this week. he's here for a tour management class. I know I've mentioned Club Jackson here before.

Last Friday Rich was working late with his classmates, and Shilpa and I were in the office until around 9:30. We caught a SB-friendly dinner on Polk, waited for Rich, and headed up to Club Jackson for a Friday Night Chill (which is usually drinking, talking and ultimately messy dancing).

Ing and Verde arrived about a bottle later. Shilpa was preparing for a trip to Vegas and we had stayed too late at work to make our mani/pedi appointments, so she was doing her toes. We were all talking. Verde needed some hand-holding for her first Brazilian the next day.

The conversation went from there.

Favorite line was from the thoroughly nonplussed newbie: "I'm just..., just amazed at the lack of boundaries in this room..."

Private Conversation

Overheard at dinner Friday night:

Titties Verde: "Well, I was a pincipal's kid, so I was outwardly well-behaved, but I got a lot of free drugs."

and

Titties Verde: "I have a huge crush on the janitor. He's rugged hot and when he came up to me it was like this because of the fake leg. But it's not one of the nice fake legs, just a pole shoved into the shoe. And he only only wears shorts— oh and cowboy boots, so the boot is wrapped with all this duct tape to the pipe."

And later at the Cinch:
RMJ: "You just missed her!"
Me: "Who?"
RMJ: "The midget transsexual hooker. She has a huge following."
Me: "Well I suppose it's nice to have something big."

Danger lurks at Club Jackson

Friday night Lance and I went to Club Jackson for a little homemade dinner and a casual evening in with just a few friends (mixed company-boys, girls, gays, straights). By 3:00 in the morning, it was clear the 'quiet night in" plan had been wrecklesly abandoned. If it's not a party until something gets broke, it was a party around midninght.

Early in the evening I asked for a pad to take notes for the blog. Without backstory or context, here are some of my overheards:

"If you are too drunk to get the cheese on your cracker, you're in trouble."
-
"I don't want kids."
"Wait 'til you hit 30. You'll want kids."
"I want kids. Specifically, I want that 22-year-old kid in the Abercrombie & Fitch ad."
-
"I'm thinking of having some sort of topless knitting contest party. You only have so much time to knit something to cover yourself. Then there is the challenge of knitting something large enough to cover yourself in the time provided, but not with such an open weave that you can see the nipples or poke through."
"I can imagine being the proctor of this test. At the end of the time I'd have to say, 'needles down.'"
-
"Wilson, you always have to cross that line."
"You know why I'm always over the line? On my side of the line: there's a bar."
-
"What happened to my bra? I had it on earlier."
-
"Did you know that Lynda Carter did porn before Wonder Woman? She did! I swear! My dad had the beta!"
-
"How did I show up with pork chops and salad fixings and end up out of my pants?"
-
"Whose bracelet is this?" She asks as applying it to her wrist.
"Uh, Honey? That's a snap-on cock ring."
-

And one really too inappropriate for blogging quote in the comments. Not my fault if you're offended.
