civil unions, a love story
Seriously. Marriage is a civil right. Within religion, it is only a rite. One, actually, has nothing to do with the other. Marriage was a legal contract long before it was a religious one. When Americans are free to marry whomever they love, we will all be freer, and it won't affect religion, freedom of religion, or religious marriage at all. To claim so is just a petty, greedy grab of "mine! not yours!"
Let freedom ring.
The appeal on the unconstitutionality of Prop 8 before the 9th Circuit starts Monday.
