A couple of friends took me away for a wonderful surprise road trip to celebrate my fortieth. We enjoyed a drive down the coast complete with road trip treats from thematic playlists to junk food and enjoyed a long weekend in Monterey, Pacific Grove and a leisurely scenic drive through Big Sur.

While the weather was fickle, ranging from cold and wet to spectacularly sunny, the views and the company were both marvelous.

We enjoyed local color from live music and dancing

tourist fun (including a mirror maze!),



fresh produce,



a visit to the Artichoke Capitol of the World,

and general nonsense!
