Straight up VOTE!

So yay, I just voted. Shilpa voted absentee and filled out her sheets this morning. Sharon commented that she likes the civic comraderie of going to a polling place and marking a ballot in the little booth and being a part of it with her fellow voters. I like that too.



But after you vote, keep your ballot receipts. As part of the Straight Up Vote campaign (see straightupvote.org), area watering holes are offering drink discounts for voters, most offering drinks for just 50 cents (why it is also called the 50 for .50 project). It looks like it is not quite 50 bars, but it's close. There is a logo list here and an easy text list here which describes what your ballot stub and fifty scents will get you.

There is also a map view, which really cracked me up as highest concentration bars supporting voting with drinks specials is in the Castro.
