For the Stompede, I have managed to recover some of the larger video clips of dancing (I know how curious you are) and an extending clipof the always fabulous Barbary Coast Cloggers. The clips have been uploaded to YouTube (just search "Barbary Coast Cloggers"), but crisper versions and additional photos have been posted on my personal site over here.
Final thoughts/shots of the Rodeo
It was a beautiful day for the long drive down to Driscoll Ranch and a superbly cool sunny day for a Rodeo. I chauffeured the kiwis (New Zealanders) Barney and his visiting friend Andrew while Lance (also a kiwi) drove down with his beagle George in his swanky new Crossfire roadster [pic].
I love watching the rodeo and even considered competing this year (wrist injury ruled that out). I am a huge fan of the barrel racing, and got some good action shots:

As much as I love the events, the four of us, mandarin and sodas in hand, spent the bulk of the afternoon socializing and shopping at the various tents.
Andrew was quite excited to have his photo taken with some "celebrities." Here he is with adult film star Michael Brandon:

and with an acquantaince I know through Tony, but did not know was also a fairly well-known performer. I only know his real name and not his model name so I will not identify him here lest other fans recognize him.

Although I have only spent time with him at bars and parties, I think J is quite a charming and intelligent young man. And yes, he is pretty. My experiece with other 'models' has been that they are about as smart as a box of hair. J carries himself quite well, and I must confess to a prolonged period of pleasant conversation with the affable Michael Brandon. There were other performers present (some sponsorship tie-in or benefit I suppose) but these two were kind enough to pose with Andrew so he could send photos to his mates back home.
We here at I'm just Sayin' support coming out whenever and wherever you feel the need, and applaud this year's rodeo's gay horse, as evidenced by his rainbow bridle.

The day was so lovely that after all was said and done, Barney asked why we were leaving? We were in an idyllic setting with warm weather and cocktails so what was our hurry to skedaddle just beause the rodeo events had stopped. You can tell by the light in some of these photos that we were there almost until the sun set.
Sundance Saloon had their usual dance tent, and as most folks had moved on (even the DJ booth empty and the board was just playing a mix CD). Lance and I took this opportunity to spin around a little bit, and Barney got some fun snaps of us doing our thing.

And Andrew became the Belle of the Rodeo--he loved having his picture taken, and getting molested by roving bands of cowboys.

But alas, it eventually came time to go home. Andrew wanted to ride with Lance, as he really liked the Crossfire. I admit it is truly a sexy automobile, but I believe auto-lust should have its limits.

As we approached Linda (my new car), Barney and I both started laughing as again we had shut down a major event by drinking until everyone was gone. When we arrived we parked in the middle of a big dirt field crammed amist a thousand other cars. When we left, Linda was the sole car to be seen.
It reminded us of closing down the Steeplechase back in 2004. Barney thought we should recreate the famous photo of him sitting on a cooler by the car, cocktail and cigarette in hands, alone in the vast infield and with no person in the stands:

I didn't have a cooler for him to sit on, but I did still have the folding plastic side table Kevin and I used way back in Midnight Mass: Mommy Dearest. We struggled to remember where in relation to the wheel well Barney was sitting in the Steeplechase photo and carefully constructed the scene before Barney sat down and I would take the photos.
Barney sat on the folding table (from which I had removed a sticker that read "Warning! Do not sit!" merely hours earlier) which immediately shattered into a dozen pieces and sent Barney sprawling on his ass into the dirt--a scene I rushed to capture with my camera.

Notice: At no point does he spill his drink.
